Why I’m Running
I believe in community-based solutions. I have all the required qualifications and experience to be an effective and successful City Council Member. I will engage with our strong community on a daily basis in order to improve local government transparency and deliver effective solutions to all residents. We must protect San Ramon’s unique quality of life and electing me is a way of securing that.
Here are my top priorities as a City Council Member:
San Ramon is the safest city in California and it must be kept this way. I do not support defunding the San Ramon Police Department. We need to support them by providing the required tools and training to SRPD. This includes focusing on anti-racism, implicit bias, mental illness, age-appropriate responses, problem-solving, mediation, and cultural competency. I will continue to work with the community and SRPD to review and reform policies for accountability and transparency.
Being a parent is a great responsibility that I love, and when sending my children off to school I want to make sure they are as safe as they can be. Because of this, I would like to see our city council partner with San Ramon Valley Unified School District to provide safe routes to and from school. We must continue to work on keeping students safe from violence, substance abuse, and bullying. If elected to city council, I would be in constant engagement with students, parents, and school administrators in finding the best policies to keep our children safe.
Like other families, mine enjoys San Ramon’s rolling hills, parks, and open spaces. I strongly believe that our open spaces, green spaces, golf courses, parks are sacred. I oppose any new development that threatens our beautiful natural resources that we all love dearly. Growth is inevitable in a great city like San Ramon, but that does not mean our open spaces have to be affected by that.
I am an engineer who is schooled in paying attention to detail. I can assure you that I will always study San Ramon’s budget and work diligently to ensure the City of San Ramon’s funds continue to be spent wisely and efficiently. One focus of mine would be to work on opportunities to improve our current retail tax revenues.
I understand the need for diversity inclusion and discrimination against any person should never be allowed. Since becoming a part of the San Ramon community, I became a founding member and a steering committee member of San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition that has helped our city become a much more welcoming place. Though, I realize that the work does not stop there, and I will continue to work to make San Ramon a more welcoming and inclusive community for all.
Senior Citizen Support
One area of improvement that our community can improve at is providing for our senior citizens. Our city must have high-quality transportation services to visit places such as our state of the art senior center with ease. Especially during this difficult time of living in a pandemic, our senior citizens must be taken care of when they need it most.
